Exotic over-water suites, and beachfront villas with pools, immerse you in ultramodern comforts and the spirit of French Polynesia. Culinary art embraces operatic sunsets over the islands primeval peaks. Introduce your family to sea turtles. Kite-surf across the impossibly blue lagoon. Spirit yourselves away in a spa by the rolling Pacific surf. Surrender to the liberating service of a luxury resort unmatched on Bora Bora.

    Travel + Leisure says...
"Although overwater bungalows are the most luxurious lodgings at the Four Seasons, the hotel has 121 different rooms scattered along the beachside and lagoon of its motu (small private islet). Walls throughout are made of volcanic stone, roofs are palm-thatched, and interiors are decorated with teak and merbau-timber furnishings. All have extraordinary views over the turquoise-blue, coral-filled South Pacific, as well as the majestic black-rock peaks of Mount Otemanu and Mount Pahia."

    Conde Nast Traveler says...
" When we stayed last October, the new Four Seasons was not yet sitting as comfortably in its surroundings as the Hotel Bora Bora (closed for renovations), or the neighbouring St Regis Resort, where Nicole Kidman had her honeymoon, but time should lend a few lines of character. Certainly, those who prefer to see the world though Four Seasons goggles will love it. French designer Pierre-Jean Picard has given the resort the feel of a golf-course, with golf-carts transporting guests to the 100 bungalows, all of which are exceptionally comfortable, with large beds, L'Occitane soaps, framed Tahitian artefacts and sliding wooden doors opening onto a horizon of palm trees. The two restaurants are good (it's hard to botch a tuna caught 50 metres away); the barman was nine years at the Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris; and the place is perfect for honeymooners (50 per cent of guests), anyone celebrating a wedding anniversary (20 per cent), or mid-30s professionals with children. But the pièce de résistance is the spa. When Rupert Brooke got sunburned on Tahiti he had to make do with a massage of coconut oil and vinegar. Here, Jennifer will give you a two-hour 'therapy treatment', involving a cactus brush, apricot kernels, peelings of black pearl, hot volcanic stones and frankincense and myrrh oils."

Travel + Leisure says..."Hayman is one of the reef's big resorts, with 234 guest rooms, 500 employees, acres of marble flooring, and five dining venues. The once-before-I-die icon has been accepting paying guests since 1935. Back then, the clientele was largely fishermen, and the accommodations were basic cabins. The next year, the American novelist Zane Grey filmed White Death on the island. Capitalizing on a sensational crescent of vanilla-sand beach, a luxury resort soon replaced the cabins and flourished for two decades before a 1970 cyclone. After the resort reopened six months later, 650,000 trees and shrubs were introduced to the island; of the 1,000 palms, 22 form a glamorous avenue. Rooms fronting the seven-times-Olympic-size swimming poolaso gigantic it loses 1,500 gallons of water in evaporation and runoff per dayahave terraces that jut into the water, so you can jump right in from your bed. Are the pools a little splashy? Yes. Are they fun? Absolutely." -From Travel + Leisure
