"There are attendants for everything from towels to drinks to welcome you to your own little palapa of relaxation." Breakfast on accra-fish cake in the treetops at Treehouse Restaurant." -From Conde Nast TravelerTravel + Leisure says..."Years before “greena and “eco-consciousa became trendy travel buzzwords, Russian-Canadian architect Nick Troubetzkoy designed and built his dream resort: a series of 49 open-air rooms situated along a verdant tropical hillside above a semi-private volcanic sand beach. Within each nature-centric Sanctuary suiteasome with the fourth wall literally removedawarm trade winds obviate the need for air-conditioning and one look toward the panoramic Piton views will make it clear why flat-screen TVs were never installed. While you can sit back and observe the abundance of wildlife right from your room, be sure to take to the water; divers and snorkelers will be thrilled to discover that several of the island's top underwater sites can be found within a few fin kicks (or a short boat ride) from the water's edge. Juicy Tidbits
Travel + Leisure says..."If you're looking for hustle and bustle, go elsewhere: this Four Seasons outpost is tucked up against some of the remotest desert in town. Opened in 1999, it's already undergone a $17 million renovation. The new “desert chica palette is meant to evoke the colors of sunset and the arid region in bloomawhich sounds corny, but in the hands of Dallas -based interior design firm Paul Duesing Partners, is anything but. The innovative look is supersophisticated, with unexpected splashes of color (heavy carved Mexican wood chairs covered in bright green leather, mixed and matched florals and stripes in bawdy hues), buildings designed to blend into the surrounding desert, and whims indulged at every turn. (Think complimentary fresh fruit and Popsicles delivered to you poolside.) Champion golfer and course designer Tom Weiskopf renovated the Troon North's 36 holesaconsidered the best in this greens-covered town. Book a private dinner in the wine-tasting room at on-site restaurant Talavera, where the chef will pair a different wine with each dish." -From Travel + LeisureConde Nast Traveler says..."The scenery from the rooms is hypnotic at this desert resort 1,000 feet above downtown. Adobe casitas open onto landscaped terraces, while suites have telescopes, private plunge pools, and outdoor showers. The "courteous and first-rate service includes chilled towels and snacks at the pool. Visit Talavera for "excellent food and a smashing view or Crescent Moon for modern Mexican cuisine served indoors or on the terrace." -From Conde Nast Traveler

Travel + Leisure says..."Located at the highest point of the resort, near the west coast town of Soufrire, the hotel wraps around the hillside, its exterior all curves and rough stone. Inside, each of the 28 suites is unique, but they all share impressive features: infinity pools or jacuzzis, 15-foot ceilings, and loftlike architectureaeven the raised bathroom is essentially part of one huge space. Walk into the living room and it seems as if you've walked into the Pitons: since there is no fourth wall obscuring the view, it's completely exposed to the elements." -From Travel + LeisureConde Nast Traveler says..."The sister property of Anse Chastanet has a "setting that is spectacular," looking onto the Piton Mountains. Airy and modern accommodations have an open wall facing the sea, 20 varieties of hardwood, and "infinity pools with iridescent tiles. The club's dinner menu "changes with the seasons"; the emphasis is on seafood. End the night with "heavenly cocktails on the Celestial Terrace." Staff carry on "as though nothing is too much trouble." -From Conde Nast Traveler

"Andalusian-style golf-and-spa resort situated in a dramatic 220-acre valley with everything from an apothecary (where guests mix their own beauty products) to guided rock-climbing expeditions and one of the region's best spas.
Rooms to Book: Guestrooms in the Casa Loma building (rooms 330-398) have a central location and fabulous views of the back valley and surrounding mountains.
Insider Tip: Try the signature Pink Moment Martini at Maravilla's Lounge.
The 220-acre Ojai Valley Inn & Spa, situated in a mountain valley that aptly portrayed Shangri-la in the 1937 film Lost Horizon, has long been known for its classic 18-hole golf course and for its Native American culture- inspired spa. Now it has upped the ante with a $70 million renovation, creating a new lobby, adding an additional 100 guest rooms, and refurbishing the existing 205 rooms with four-poster beds and decorative Mexican terra-cotta tiles. The style is Spanish colonial, but the substance is fully 21st century, including Wi-Fi and flat-screen TV's. In the spa, signature treatments incorporate locally grown organic ingredients (citrus, lavender), and a dedicated men's menu lures golfers with treatments such as the Gentleman's Luxury Facial and Golfer's Post-Round Massage, which can be administered, upon request, in a room outfitted with a fireplace."
