Amangani is located on a high mountain valley in North West Wyoming. Nearly 7000 feet above sea level, it looks across to the Grand Teton Pass. Perched atop East Gros Ventre Butte, Amangan's unique location offers panoramic views of the snow-capped peaks around Grand Teton National Park.
Juicy TidbitsTravel + Leisure says..."Cliff-top hotel with staggering Teton views, Asian-inspired platform beds, and large soaking tubs. " ~From Travelandleisure.com
Conde Nast Traveler says..."You think you are riding up into the clouds” as you arrive at this “unmatched resort” overlooking the Snake River and the Grand Teton mountain range from its perch atop a butte. The rooms “exceed all expectations” with their deep soaking tubs, metal fireplaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows, and provide “much-needed comfort after long days spent enjoying the outdoors.” The “Zen decor” of Pacific redwood walls, Oklahoma sandstone columns, and a neutral palette gives it a “hushed but elegant feel. It integrates into the local landscape.” Try the American fare at The Grill, or gaze at the “killer views” while soaking in the quartzite-tiled outdoor pool, maintained at 80 degrees year-round. The service “makes you feel very pampered—you are not a room number, you are a VIP guest.”~From CondeNastTraveler.com

Amangiri has been designed to blend into the landscape of Canyon Point in Southern Utah, with natural hues, materials and textures as a feature of the design. The structures are commanding and in proportion with the scale of the natural surroundings, yet provide an intimate setting from which to view and appreciate the landscape. Arrival to the resort is via a winding road that descends into the valley and leads to the central Pavilion. Built around the main swimming pool, the Pavilion embraces a dramatic stone escarpment. Within the Pavilion is the Living Room, Gallery, Library, Dining Room, Private Dining Room and Cellar. Two accommodation wings lead from the Pavilion into the desert: 16 suites are located within the North Wing and another 16 suites together with the Aman Spa are located within the South Wing. Outward views from the resort look over the untouched valley surrounded by lofty bluffs.
Juicy TidbitsTravel + Leisure says..."Encircled by dramatic, earth-colored rock formations, Aman Resorts’ second North American property is hidden away on 600 acres of Utah wilderness alongside eroded hoodoos and 5,000-year-old petroglyphs. In its squat cement buildings, each color-matched to mirror the subtleties of the landscape, you’ll find 34 suites that frame breathtaking views of the sculpted sandstone. A 25,000-square-foot spa has hydrotherapy treatments and generous spaces for yoga and Pilates. Meals are served in the wood-and-stone-accented dining room, which overlooks a dramatic pool that wraps around a huge boulder. At night, after a dinner of roasted elk with cherry sauce, the region’s stillness seems somehow musical, a soundless evocation of the American West." ~From Travelandleisure.com
Travel + Leisure says..."Staking a claim to 600 remote acres of Utah’s vast desert landscape, this exclusive resort guarantees coveted alone time—at a price—and has attracted privacy-seeking celebs such as Brangelina. Thirty-four cement low-slung suites blend seamlessly with the dramatic sandstone formations. Twin rain showers, soaking tubs with uninterrupted views, and private outdoor desert lounges with fireplaces complete the ultra-modernist look. Laze poolside and gaze upon the dramatic 150-foot-high rock breaching the waters, or see the dramatic sights from helicopter or hot-air balloon rides." ~From Travelandleisure.com
Conde Nast Traveler says..."Opened in 2009 in the center of the Grand Circle, this resort, designed to blend into the landscape, is located on a perfect-scoring 600 acres surrounded by the Grand Canyon, Monument Valley, and Grand Staircase-Escalante. “It’s understated but absolute luxury in the desert.” Entry to each “spare but very comfortable” suite is via a private courtyard with a Douglas fir timber screen; inside, white stone floors and concrete walls complement rawhide furniture with natural timbers, blackened steel fittings, and light-colored cushions. Concertina glass doors open to a lounge with a fireplace and views of the natural landscape. “Staff are low-key, friendly, and attentive—but not always immediately on top of anticipating guests’ needs, such as towels by the pool.” The Dining Room uses locally sourced seasonal produce and has an open kitchen with a wood-fired oven that creates “spectacular food.” Activities are “excellent, from the outstanding via ferrata to a superb spa.” ~From cntraveler.com

Juicy TidbitsConde Nast Traveler says..."With "a dreamy location" on Mai Khao Beach, on Phuket's less frenetic northern coast, this "fantastic hotel" on a former coconut plantation is all gardens and grand entryways. Traditional Thai villas border a free-form lagoon and have wood-beam ceilings, terrazzo tubs, outdoor decks, and private pools. "Staff do everything well—incredibly well." For Thai-accented tapas and Andaman Sea views, climb to the Tree House—accessed via a spiral staircase that wraps around an ancient banyan tree. Sea Fire Salt does a beachside seafood barbecue and has a salt sommelier on hand. Mixologists man the infinity pool bar." ~From cntraveler.com

Juicy TidbitsConde Nast Traveler says..."The specs: A 200-room beach resort on a secluded Aegean peninsula, 80 miles from the closest airport. The look: The hotel building itself, a straw-colored stone slab looming over the hilltop, doesn't exactly blend into the pine-covered slopes, but no matter—your gaze will be permanently trained outside. Every inch of the resort, including each guest room, perfectly frames the spectacular coastline: low rocky ridges, electric-blue inlets, and the occasional sailboat lazily making its way toward Bodrum. Rooms have pleasing dark woods and crisp white linens, while common areas, including the ravishing pool deck, have the same clean-lined, thickly marbled, moneyed look found in luxury hotels from the Riviera to the Bund. There's little of the Arabesque in the D-Hotel's decor other than at the Ottoman restaurant Spice, but those smooth, polished surfaces make all that raw natural beauty pop even more. The experience: Most of the action is on the five private beaches, reached by funicular, a long footpath, or a quick speedboat ride. But the action here is primarily of the slow-motion variety: swimming in the silky sea, sunning on soft-white sand (imported from Egypt), and snacking on freshly made pita. There's also tennis, water sports aplenty, and an overwater dance club that heats up in summer, all tended to by the sweet-as-can-be staff. " ~From cntraveler.com
