The resorts guest accommodations of 40 pavilions are interspersed within a coconut plantation connected by elevated walkways with colonnades.

Juicy Tidbits
Conde Nast Traveler says..."Multi-tiered rooflines and locally inspired interiors prevail at this hillside resort on the Andaman Sea. "Plush pavilions," all with salas, are peppered amid the coconut palms. Terrace Restaurant serves Thai and European dishes alfresco; enjoy drinks at sunset on a teak chair on The Bar's beachfront terrace. "Staff pay close attention to the details." Complimentary yoga and meditation sessions are offered on the hillside." -From Conde Nast Traveler

Travel + Leisure says..."Phuket's Amanpuri is the very first Amanresorts property and, perhaps, the loveliest. Guests may book one of 40 rooms or 30 villas and dine in either of the 2 restaurants before hitting the property's bar. Villas come with a private pool, a driver, a gardener and two maids. Wet bathing suits seem to magically dry and fold themselves as evidence of the property's commitment to inconspicuous service." -From Travel + Leisure

There is more than a hint of adventure in the air at Anantara Golden Triangle Resort & Spa where trekking through tropical jungles astride an elephant is an everyday occurrence. Overlooking the winding Mekong River surrounded by 160 acres of bamboo forest, this elegant resort provides a relaxing spa, glorious views and an elephant camp. From the sofa on your balcony, the view of the Laos and Myanmar hills is truly breathtaking. Inside, you are cocooned in a swathe of silks and complete comfort, while regional works of art, beautiful teak and terrazzo floors add a rustic, distinctly Thai style. Go elephant trekking, and on your return watch them bathe and cool down in the water. Visit three countries in one day. Take a morning stroll through a bustling border market in Myanmar, lunch in the historic Lanna Kingdom, followed by afternoon shopping in Laos. Anantara Golden Triangle Resort & Spa is a Small Luxury Hotels of the World property.

Juicy Tidbits
Travel + Leisure says..."The property rests on the banks of the mighty Mekong River at the meeting point of Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos. The Zen-luxe retreat, near the Thai town of Chiang Saen, unabashedly makes the most of its location. Each of the 90 rooms includes a balcony with a canopied daybed for prime tri-cultural vistas. The Anantara's spa has five treatment rooms, equipped with both Thai massage platforms and private outdoor decks. The Mekong plays host to scenic river rides on long-tail boats, and the resort's nearby elephant camp, affiliated with Thailand's Elephant Conservation Center, offersriding courses. There's also a Thai cooking school, along with two restaurants and a bar. To help support the Doi Tung produce co-op, run by 27 area villages and tribes, the hotel carries its fair-trade nuts and coffee beans to sell to guests." -From Travel + Leisure

An expansive and elegant private Balinese villa awaits you with separate sleeping, bathing and living pavilions and ocean views from your plunge pool. An Indonesian spa. Dramatic hilltop and oceanside dining. All immersed in the mystique of this spiritual land. Experience the diversity of Bali by pairing your visit with a stay at Four Seasons Resort Bali at Sayan, an intimate upcountry retreat.

Juicy Tidbits
Travel + Leisure says..."Expectedly luxurious and dramatic, this Four Seasons sits atop a cliff at the southern end of Jimbaran Bay. The 147 thatched-roof pavilions are furnished in carved teak and upholstered in tropical batik fabrics; some have kitchenettes, and all have gardens, and terraces with private plunge pools that staffers sprinkle daily with frangipani blossoms. Views from them spill out over the sea and the soaring peak of Mount Agung, and many have private access to the resort's private, white-sand beach, with its arsenal of water sports (catamarans, windsurfers, and canoes). Faultless service and a super snazzy spa (where treatment rooms all have their own bougainvillea-filled courtyards) leave you wanting for nothing. Casual, beachside PJ's is the better of the resort's two restaurants; it serves fresh seafood brought daily from the local market (less than a mile away), and is a super spot for chilling out over sundowners." -From Travel + LeisureConde Nast Traveler says..."With villas arranged around seven squares, emulating a Balinese village, "the resort feels like an exclusive city where golf carts take you everywhere!" "Magical accommodations with local art and wooden bedside tabletops are terraced into the hillside. At a sunset dinner on the beach, "they dug out sand to create space for a low table and chairs for my kids." -From Conde Nast Traveler
